Need to get out of the office? Engage your brain in something crafty and pretty? We have two "tiny desk" crafts for you to enjoy: diamond painting and a traditional paint by numbers. You can spend as little or as much time as you would like; your addition becomes part of a community project! Come check it out!

Take an InnoBreak!

Dive into a much-need diversion during your 10-hour day this summer with InnoBreak at Meriam Library! Every Tuesday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm we will provide an entertaining event, craft, or short films to help you escape the confines of your workspace and engage your brain in something other than schedules, spreadsheets, and signatures. Bring your lunch and head over to Meriam Library!

Finals Coffee on 4

Get ready for the final crunch with coffee and snacks on Meriam Library's 4th floor! We will be hosting hot java and assorted treats to help you be prepared Tuesday, May 5, Wednesday, May 6, and Monday, May 11 from 9 am to 2 pm. Stop by and refuel!

Macrame Plant Hangers

Honor the '70s by making a cool macrame plant hanger! We will teach you the simple basic knots, provide the rope, and wooden rings. There might even be some funky beads to add a little glam. We'll use a standard 6-inch pot as a guide, but feel free to bring in a pot you would like to use (so the measurements are right). Snacks will be provided and we look forward to seeing you there!

Seed Library Plant, Paint, & Sip

Celebrate Earth Day and discover Meriam's Seed Library! Join us Monday, April 20 from 3–4 pm in the Innovation Lab to plant seeds from our collection, paint a clay pot, and enjoy free mocktails. All supplies will be provided along with some good advice and literature on how to become an amazing plant (and planet) steward!

Create beautiful Waldorf kite paper stars in this hands-on workshop and learn the simple folding techniques that transform translucent paper into glowing geometric art. All materials (and snacks) are provided to craft a luminous decoration perfect for brightening your window or workspace.

Gettin' Crafty with Pom Poms!

Join us in the Innovation Lab Makerspace to learn how to make patterned pom poms, and then discover different ways to use pom poms for clothing additions, home decorations, seasonal items, and toys. There's a multitude of fun and creative ways to use the humble pom pom to brighten up your life while accessing skill-building activities that can be fostered in our Innovation Lab. Materials and snacks will be provided, but if you have yarn at home that you would like to use, please feel free to bring it in!

DIY Seed Bombs!

It's the perfect time to make seed bombs that you can plant in your garden (or in a pot) after the last frost for a beautiful patch of flowers that are known to attract our best friend, the bee!
