Palgrave Macmillan Ebooks on trial through October 21.

The Meriam Library has been given trial access to ebooks published by Palgrave Macmillan available on the Palgrave Connect platform. Over 6,500 titles are available covering a broad range of subjects, including economics, political science, history, literature, business, social science, and philosophy.

Science on trial through December 2, 2011.

The Meriam Library has been given trial access to Science, the highly regarded and influential journal of scientific research published by  the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The Meriam Library has long subscribed to Science in print, and currently has online access to its content covering 1880-2005.

Ambrose Video on trial through October 30.

The Meriam Library has been given trial access to Ambrose Video. Ambrose Video is an online database containing streaming educational videos covering the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. To access the videos, find and click the "institutional access" tab on the Ambrose Video homepage.

Material ConneXion on trial through February 8, 2011

The Meriam Library has been given trial access to Material ConneXion. This is a searchable database of available materials used in manufacturing and design. Users can search the database in several different ways, including the process used to create the material, sustainability characteristics, usage related characteristics, and the material's physical properties.  Records include the material description, and manufacturer contact information.

CRC Press eBooks on trial through Dec. 31, 2010

The Meriam Library has been given trial access to CRCnetBASE, which is the online site hosting CRC Press publications in ebook form. CRC Press is a premier publisher of essential reference works covering a broad range of science and technology subjects --  from the social sciences, life sciences and mathematics to physical sciences and engineering.

New ProQuest user interface available for preview

ProQuest has released a new version of their database user interface. Use of the new database interface will become mandatory at the end of June 2011, but libraries are being offered the opportunity to migrate to the new platform any time before then.

Springer Ebooks on trial through Oct. 31, 2010

The Meriam Library has been given trial access to the full collection of Springer ebooks via the SpringerLink website. All of the books available in the trial are published by Springer. A broad range of subject areas are covered in the collection, including Engineering, Social Sciences, Humanities, Business, and more.

Ebrary Ebooks on trial through September 27

The Meriam Library has been given trial access to a very large collection of ebooks made available through Ebrary. There are over 50,000 books in the collection covering a broad range of subject areas. Over 425 publishers make their online books available through Ebrary, including Taylor & Francis, John Wiley & Sons, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, and many more major academic publishers and university presses.
