Physical Items:

  • Loan periods are set by the lender. If your item is borrowed from another CSU, the loan period begins the day you check it out and is due in 30 or 60 days.
  • Items from other libraries typically are three weeks + 1 day from the day you are sent notification of arrival.
  • All items are normally non-renewable.
  • The due date is on the front of the ILS strap. Please leave the strap on at all times.
  • Return material, with strap and paperwork, to any Meriam Library drop box.
  • Materials are subject to recall by the lending library. Patrons must return materials immediately when a recall notice is received from the Interlibrary Services office.
  • Failure to return material on time may result in suspension of ILS services or having future requests be limited to LIBRARY USE ONLY.
  • If material arrives and you have been notified before your last acceptable date, you are still responsible for all charges.
  • You are liable for any lost or damaged material. The lending library will determine the costs, fines and processing fees for which you are liable.
  • Failure to comply with these procedures may result in university services and library privileges being withheld.
  • Conditions for use are set by the lending institution and must be observed by the borrower. You will be notified of any conditions, given instructions, and they will be noted on the book band. These conditions may include: For Library Use Only, Photocopying Not Allowed, etc.

  • All fees are added to your library circulation account at the time the book or article is processed by Interlibrary Services.
  • Pay fees at the Circulation counter on the first floor.
  • Regardless of whether you claim your material, the fee is valid and permanent.
  • Unpaid fees will cause suspension of library check-out privileges and may result in the withholding of university services.

WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
