The library has reopened! The library is taking precautions for Covid in order to keep everyone safe. Please follow the Covid Guidelines for the Library:

  • Masks must be worn at all times.
  • No food in the library.
  • The library is a campus facility requiring vaccinations for all patrons.
  • Wash your hands frequently.
  • Stay home when you are sick.

 

When is library the open?

The library will have shortened hours for the first few weeks due to a lack of student employees. Check our building hours for open times.

 

The upper floors (2-4) close at 4:45?

Yes, due to limited staffing, we will close the upper floors. To use the Grove after hours (5-8) you will need to exit the building and reenter through the Grove doors. You will need to show id or we will look you up to verify you are a CSU Chico patron. After hours is open Monday - Thursday the first two weeks of the semester until we can be open later/longer.

 

What happened to the first floor computer lab?

The Librarian and Reference Offices were moved to the 1st floor after the Honors Program and First Year Experience moved to into the library on the 2nd floor. There are now more computers on the 2nd floor, and the 4th floor lab is still available. There are also computers in the Grove and will be some left in the new Research Commons which previously housed the computer lab.

 

Where can I study after 5:00 PM?

The Grove is going to be open from 5:00-8:00 PM until we are full capacity in September. It will be open to CSU Chico Patrons only. Bring your Wildcat ID card or other form of ID so we can look you up in the campus system.

 

Do you have public computers for use?

We do not have public computers at the moment. We are in the processes of updating them.

 

Do you have study rooms? How do I book a study room?

All floors are open and students can reserve study rooms on both the 2nd and 3rd floors: https://libcal.csuchico.edu/reserve/librooms

 

Are face shield okay instead of masks?

No, face shield are not approved on campus however, an accommodationn may be made through the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC). Please contact them for additional information.

 

Where can I Zoom for my class?

You can technically Zoom anywhere, but quiet areas. There are some Zoom spaces set up on the 4th floor with power. It is requested that you use your headphones so that you do not disturb others.
