Government Documents on the Move

The Meriam Library's Federal and California Document collections are in the process of being updated, consolidated and streamlined.  Over the next several months the collections will be modified and shifted to the west, with the sorting area for all government documents moved to the southwestern corner of the 4th floor near the restrooms.  Should you experience any difficulty finding a government document, please feel free to ask for assistance at the Circulation desk in the library's lobby.

Map Collection Moved to 2nd Floor

The Meriam Library's Map Collection has been relocated from the southeastern wing of 4th floor to the northeastern wing of 2nd floor near the Theses Collection.  This move is to accommodate an expansion of improved study and research seating in one of the most desirable study areas of the Library Complex -- the 4th floor window bank overlooking the BMU and SSC quads.

Coffee in the Library!

On behalf of everybody who works in the Meriam Library, I would like to welcome new and returning students faculty and staff. We are excited to begin the new semester and hope you find plenty of reasons to visit us over the course of the year. Whether you need a quiet study space (Library 3rd floor), are meeting a group (2nd and 4th floors), or want to relax with your laptop in an overstuffed chair (Library 1st floor), we have what you need. And while you're on the first floor, be sure and visit our new coffee machine and try out a cup of Starbucks coffee or a latte.

Some Muss Some Fuss

The Library will be taking advantage of the relative quiet of the summer months to do some projects. This week we are doing a restoration/cleaning of the carpet on the first floor in the Laptop Lounge and the Student Computer Lab so these areas will be closed to the public. The Student Computer Lab annex on the fourth floor will be open and staffed. Additionally beginning this week we will be working on installing shelving in the new stacks to the right of the elevators on the third floor.
