The Media & Microforms Collection includes materials that require specialized equipment to view or listen as well as a small collection of current newspapers.

Media formats include DVD’s, CD’s, video cassettes and audio-cassettes. Movies, television programs, music, plays, poetry, and foreign language materials are collected primarily to support the academic program. Federal government and California government items on DVD and CD are also found in this location.

Microforms are printed resources such as newspapers and journals that have been converted to microfilm, microfiche and microcard. Microforms offer miniature versions of printed material and require a reader to make them legible. The collection also contains historic books and government documents in microformats.

Use:

Media & Microforms provides DVD, CD, VHS, and audio-cassette players for use in the library as well as readers for all microformat materials. Microform readers include digital readers so users can save items to an external USB drive or reader/printers to make paper copies of microformat items. There is no charge for downloading, users provide their own storage drives. Paper copies are $.20 per copy.

Circulation:

Media materials may be checked out for 7 days. Microforms and print newspapers do not circulate and must be used in the library. Media materials are checked out and returned at the Circulation Desk in the main lobby and incur the same fines as books if overdue or lost.
