The Research Commons is located on the first floor of the Meriam Library.
In the Research Commons students can meet with a librarian to get research help, meet and collaborate with fellow students, or study independently. There are desktop computers, which are all connected to the black and white printer in the Grove.
Library faculty and staff also host library events in the Research Commons to promote library sense of place, promote Meriam Library services, and library collections.
Policies
- Reservation of the space is limited to Meriam Library faculty, staff, and students.
- Reservation requests for the whole space should be sent to the Research, Instruction, and Outreach department by emailing mlibpromo@csuchico.edu with the subject Research Commons Reservation Request, at least one week in advance. Reservation requests may be denied during times of heavy use of the space by students.
- The space is subject to the Meriam Library Public Use Policy. The library expects students to respectfully share the space with their colleagues. We reserve the right to ask disruptive students to leave or modify their behavior.
