This year’s Book in Common is California Against the Sea: Visions for Our Vanishing Coastline by Rosanna Xia. To celebrate this book, the Meriam Library is inviting you to “Write a Postcard to the Sea.”
Through the participatory project “Write a Postcard to the Sea,” anyone can “send” a handwritten postcard that shares their reflections, memories, questions, or hopes in any language. Each postcard becomes part of a collection that bridges cultures, sparks dialogue, and strengthens connections between people and the ocean. All postcards received will be digitized, and shared online on the library’s website, creating a platform for intercultural and intergenerational exchange.
Postcards are available on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th floors of the library.
