LIBR 130 prepares students for later coursework by introducing them to the kinds of assignments they will see in upper division classes: annotated bibliographies, citation crafting, literature reviews, data creation and visualization, academic poster presentations, etc. Around these assignments, they’re taught the kinds of materials they’ll encounter in college research: journal articles and books, government information, trade journals, white papers, dissertations, etc. It’s a holistic view of what it means to do research at the undergraduate level to provide a clear path to success through later years.
