WestlawNext

Westlaw has a new look! The Westlaw interface has been updated and re-branded as WestlawNext.

The Meriam Library subscribes to the Campus Version of WestlawNext which provides the content legal students need to become proficient in legal research. The only difference between WestlawNext and the previous version of Westlaw is the interface, the content is exactly the same. In WestlawNext you will find:

New Catalog Search Options

The Meriam Library recently completed a project to “re-scope” our collection. What this means is that by using the dropdown menu to the right of the search box in the Library Catalog, the patron can now easily limit their searches to a variety of online materials such as eBooks, eReference, eMedia, and eGovDocs.

Whether you are a distance education student, or a student or faculty member working from home,  the ability to limit your search to what is immediately available to you can simplify, streamline, and improve your search experience.

Laptop Lounge Changes

Welcome back! Over the winter break, a substantial amount of progress was made to transform the old Laptop Lounge into The Grove, a new more vibrant study space promoted by Provost Belle Wei and designed by CSU, Chico Interior Architecture students.  The most noticeable change is the three brightly colored partial walls that serve not only to break up the room, but to provide much needed power as well. New carpet, paint, and ceiling tiles help to freshen up the room. Watch for more changes throughout the semester, including some new furniture.

Checkout a Laptop!

The Meriam Library has five Dell Latitude D630 laptops available for checkout to CSU, Chico students, faculty and staff. Courtesy patrons and non-affiliated users are not eligible. The laptops circulate as a set with carrying case, charger and battery pack.

Laptops are checked out from the Circulation counter on the 1st floor.
