The Meriam Library has added a new database: NBC Learn Higher Education. NBC Learn Higher Ed is a collection of more than 14,000 videos, documents, images and audio files containing historical news reports, current events, primary source documents, and original content. NBC Learn Higher Ed’s resources are great for research, classroom lectures, online teaching, and can be embedded to add a multi-media dimension to student presentations or to Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard.
Westlaw has a new look! The Westlaw interface has been updated and re-branded as WestlawNext.
The Meriam Library subscribes to the Campus Version of WestlawNext which provides the content legal students need to become proficient in legal research. The only difference between WestlawNext and the previous version of Westlaw is the interface, the content is exactly the same. In WestlawNext you will find:
New online this semester in the Meriam Library is the Times Literary Supplement (TLS) Historical Archive. The TLS is a world-renowned weekly publication covering literary works on every subject from around the world, as well as theater, art and film.
Four new online databases debut this Fall at the Meriam Library – Early English Books Online, HeinOnline, Global Market Navigator, and Times Literary Supplement Historical Archive.
Meriam Library has acquired access to two important online newspaper archives -- The Times London, and the Los Angeles Times. Coverage for the Times London is 1785-2008, and for the Los Angeles Times it is 1881-1990. Previously, our access to these newspaper archives has been limited to microfilm format. The online format offers a significant advantage in that it is searchable.
The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) database is a vast resource of searchable social science data research. This excellent resource for research data is now available to Chico State University by the College of Behavioral & Social Sciences.

The Meriam Library has acquired access to the Ebrary Academic Complete collection of ebooks. This database contains over 80,000 ebooks from a long list of leading university presses and academic publishers covering all subjects. This is a growing collection of ebooks, with new titles being added quarterly. All ebooks in the collection allow multiple simultaneous users, and can be downloaded to be read offline on a computer, or on an Android or Apple device.
BizMiner is a professional database that provides financial ratios, profit and loss benchmarks, and industry statistical reports at the granular level most useful to business planners, start-ups, sole proprietorships, small businesses, and local enterprise. It covers 5,000 lines of business at the national and local levels down to the Zip code.
