How to Write an Effective Research Question / Unearthing Your Topic, W. Cuthbertson (2018)

This handout walks students through a series of questions to guide their authoring of an effective, inquiry-based research question.  Examples are provided to clarify concepts and distinguishing characteristics of a strong research inquiry.  The obverse side of the handout prodivdes guiding questions and source categories for students having difficulty narrowing their topic from a broad idea to one of practical focus.

This handout provides introductory guidance and useful links for students writing their first literature review.

 

Boolean Mythology II, W. Cuthbertson (2017)

This worksheet familiarizes students with the concepts of search logic by having them reconceptualize mythological creatures as Boolean statements.  The activity concludes with students creating their own hybrid animal using Boolean logic.
