Congratulations to our winners in Meriam Library’s Banned Books Week contest! Three names were randomly picked (students needed to answer one of five questions to be eligible to win). First prize went to Ricardo Bugarin who won a Discover What You’re Missing mug, $15.00 gift card to the Chico State Wildcat Store, a Banned Books Week button and bookmark. By student demand, Every third Thursday of the month is now Game Night at Meriam Library. We'll be meeting in the SW corner of the 2nd floor (near room 212) from 4:00 - 7:00 PM for open board games and Xbox One.

Big changes are coming to the search interface and catalog at the Meriam Library in July 2017. For the past several years, the CSU has worked to combine the 23 campus libraries’ physical and shared electronic holdings into one catalog and search interface, called OneSearch. This system is in the final stages of completion and will be going live at Chico State in July. The new vendor, ExLibris, is a library leader in innovative searching interfaces and library management systems.

We are pleased to welcome Archivist, Stefani Baldivia to our Meriam Library Special Collections team. Stefani hails to us from Arcata where she held a similar position. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State University in Native American Studies and a Master’s degree of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. She grew up in the college town of Redlands where her father worked at University of Redlands. She loves Chico’s tree lined streets and weather as it is reminiscent of her hometown.
