In May, 2020, Chancellor Timothy P. White announced that all CSU campuses will deliver the vast majority of instruction virtually for the fall 2020 semester.  Following the Chancellor’s directive, Chico State is planning for the majority of its fall course offerings and most student support services to be online or offered through alternative modalities.

In order to accommodate Chancellor White's directive, Meriam Library will be limited to item pickup at the library exit doors in the breezeway on Mondays and Thursdays from 8am to 12pm (During summer hours; hours will change at the beginning of the semester). Requests for items can be placed through OneSearch on the library's website; users must sign in to their library account in order to be able to request items.

Items will be checked out to patrons prior to arrival. Patrons will need to show their WildCat ID card in order to pick up items. An email will be sent to patrons indicating the items have been checked out to them and the due date of the materials.

Meriam Library is implementing the recommendations on the handling of library materials from the Library Guidelines from the CDC and Reopening Archives, Libraries, and Museums (REALM), including a 72 hour quarantine period for returned books (and books received through CSU+ or interlibrary borrowing).

Thank you for working with us in order to protect the safety of our students, staff, and faculty and for your patience as we work towards this new system. We hope that it will be a smooth transition, and ask that you share issues, questions, or concerns with Meriam Library Dean, Patrick Newell.
