Please scroll down for this summer's operating hours. The Meriam Library breezeway will be undergoing an extensive renovation this summer to replace the waterproofing and drainage systems. The breezeway will be fenced off for most of the summer, beginning Monday May 22.
The library will be fully operational throughout the summer, but there will be a few temporary modifications everyone should be aware of.
THERE WILL BE NO ACCESS TO THE LIBRARY VIA THE BREEZEWAY OR REGULAR ENTRANCE DOORS. ALL OCCUPANTS WILL USE THE LIBRARY'S "STAFF" DOOR AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER. CLEAR WAYFINDING SIGNAGE WILL BE INSTALLED DIRECTING ALL LIBRARY USERS TO THIS DOOR.
The library's regular book return drop in the breezeway will be inaccessible during this time. During regular operating hours, all book returns should be taken directly to the Circulation counter in the lobby. After hours and on weekends, a temporary book drop near the temporary entrance/exit door may be used for book returns.
ALL GROUP STUDY ROOMS WILL BE UNAVAILABLE FOR STUDENT USE THIS SUMMER, as they will be used as temporary staff offices for those who've had to relocate due to the construction project.
There will also be some minor renovation work in the lobby, including replacement of the entrance/exit doors and storefront windows, reconfiguration of the entrance and exits to improve foot traffic flow, and new security gates.
The biggest impact to library users is likely to be noise, especially during the first few weeks of summer as the breezeway concrete is removed. Earplugs will be available from library staff.

The Meriam Library Summer 2017 hours will be:
May 22 – June 2: Entire Library Complex open Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:45pm; closed Saturdays, Sundays, and Monday May 29 (Memorial Day)
June 5 – August 13: Library open Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 5:00pm; closed Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Tuesday July 4 (Independence Day).
August 14 – 18: Main Library open Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:45pm, closed Saturday and Sunday.
Fall 2017 Semester hours begin at 7:30am on Monday August 21.
