Online access to this resource is gratis for one year with purchase of the print version, which the Library currently has on order. This is an impressive reference work, with over 56,000 biographies written by 10,000 specialist contributors. There are also over 10,000 portrait illustrations. Biographies contained in the Dictionary cover persons who have helped shape British history.
