A sampling of favorite businesses reveals the pivotal importance of private companies in today’s economy. These companies are niche & specialty, entrepreneurial, family owned, private equity owned, or venture backed. Notoriously, they are difficult to investigate because they don’t sell stock on public exchanges and therefore are not subject to disclosure requirements But all that has changed! Now CSU Chico students and faculty have access to the same top-notch database utilized by investors, journalists, corporate strategists, government agencies, and market researchers. In our curriculum, PrivCo will be used for competitive intelligence, deal structure analysis, due diligence reports, benchmarking data, and management strategy research. Fulfilling other objectives, the database is both local and global, covering companies in all U.S. regions and from all continents. This database is a fantastic addition to our research portfolio for coursework in entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and management.
