EBSCO Ebooks on trial through Nov. 3, 2012.

The Meriam Library has been given trial access to the EBSCO Ebooks Academic Subscription Collection. This database contains over 83,000 ebooks from a long list of University Presses and academic publishers covering all subjects. All ebooks in the collection allow multiple simultaneous users, and can be downloaded to be read offline on a computer, or on a variety of portable devices using the BlueFire app.

Lockers Available

The Meriam Library has lockers available on the 2nd floor for currently registered students and faculty.

You can rent a lock at the Circulation counter for $10.00.

Chico “It’s Wonderful”

Today while cataloging a new batch of photographs on loan to Special Collections, I found a charming little postcard of the “Old Bidwell Home at Chico, California”, dated September 29, 1947. The message on the verso is a timeless one. Enjoy!

Network Outage March 19th

Chico Digital Collections

There is a new link on the Library ReSEARCH Station page leading to CSU Chico Digital Collections. Chico Digital Collections uses ContentDM, a digital exhibit system, to house and manage our unique digital collections and make them accessible to the campus, community, and the world. View CSU, Chico yearbooks from 1920-1970, learn about the Chico Army Air Field that operated during World War II north of town, or read diaries from early N.E.California settlers to get a sense of daily life and commerce in the North Valley in the early 1900’s.

Proquest Database Maintenance

ProQuest® will be performing infrastructure maintenance on December 3, 2011. A twelve (12) hour maintenance window will be required for this maintenance. The window will begin on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 7:00 pm.

The following products will be unavailable during this window:

    •Products on the new ProQuest platform will be unavailable. Access to products from any of our legacy platforms will not be impacted.

Thanksgiving Break Hours

The Meriam Library will be closed Saturday and Sunday, November 19th & 20th.  We will be open Monday through Wednesday, November 21st through the 23rd, from 8:00 am to 4:45 pm.  We will be closed Thursday through Saturday, November 24th through the 26th.  We will return to regular hours beginning  at 12:00 noon Sunday, November 27th.
